Still working and an almost monumentally stupid mistake.

Update...I'm making good progress on my coat. The lining is all done, the shoulder pads are in, ditto with the sleeve heads.

So I was getting ready to bag the lining, had things pinned, then remembered, "Duh! I didn't do my welt pockets!!!" Can you imagine getting the lining in, then remembering the pockets weren't done??? Whew. So the jacket is on my dressform with right now with paper "welt" rectangles attached to check the placement.

Tomorrow I'll work on the welts and maybe get started putting the lining in.

I've been known to do stuff like that! I probably would have the whole thing done before I realized my mistake!

Good catch! Near disasters like that can make my scaredy-cat mojo disappear for a long time. Yours sounds much braver.

The key word is "almost"! I can imagine some swear words if you had completed the lining and then discovered it!!! I sewed a cuff on wrong yesterday and it is always such a "DUH!!" moment when I realize what I've done! Glad you caught it and no ripping was involved! Mary

I love it when other sewers are brave enough to blog about their mistakes. Two nights ago I put both sleeves into my jacket backwards. D'oh!
