Swimsuits Rule!!!

But they only rule when you make them :) . Bye bye, way overpriced, minimal yardage, RTW swimsuits. *MY* swimsuit looks and fits WAY better!

There's a big disadvantage to DD#1 waitressing for her college money: working until 12 midnight, 1 or 2 a.m. in the morning.

There's a big advantage to DD#1 waitressing for her college money: working until 12 midnight, 1 or 2 a.m. in the morning.

She doesn't have a license yet (she doesn't have the extra money to pay for her car insurance), so I drive and pick her up--a personal chauffeur. Yeah, I'm really tired and lose good sleep time, however, I gain a lot of sewing time late at night.

Therefore, I was able to work on my swimsuit last night and finish it tonight. Here it is:

It doesn't look like much, but all I wanted was a simply one-piece Baywatch style swimsuit and that is what I got. It looks good on, and fits very nicely. Getting ready to make swimsuit no. 2 out of a floral print. I'm behind on taking photos so maybe in the next week or so. Still need to get a pic of my Amy Butler Halter dress too.
Gotta go and pick her up...

This coming summer I will follow your lead and make swimsuits for myself and my daughters. Last summer my daughter bought a tiny bikini (less than half a metre of fabric involved) and I will not tell you how much it cost!

I totally agree! I've made TWO and I will NEVER buy another one lol.

I agree, I love mine better too. You probably look much better in yours because unlike me, you have no stretch marks! LOL. Love the color!

I'll bet you look like a baywatch babe in your one piece baywatch style suit. It is a gorgeous color. You are such a good mom to stay up late and pick your daughter up from work. In VA, teens with drivers licenses have curfews of midnight, even if they have jobs. Though I got my first driver's license in PA long, long ago, I don't recall curfews.

It totally does look like the Baywatch swimsuits! I have not yet attempted one. But I have refused to buy any new ones from VS this year for $100+! Can't wait to see your Amy Butler Cabo Halter dress -I've thought of doing the same thing. I previously made that pattern in a knit fabric and I bet that would work well for a dress version too.

It looks very professional, and makes me want to give swimsuits a try! How nice to have one that fits well in the style and color you want.
